What criteria do you use when selecting fruits and vegetables?

There are many factors such as shape, color, smell, weight, and hardness, but that "perfection" may have been achieved with the help of pesticides.

Japan is a major pesticide-using country. Depending on the statistics, it is said to be the third most pesticide-using country in the world. The cause is thought to be excessive demands from consumers.

There are concerns about the effects of some pesticides on the soil and human body.
There seems to be a lot that is still unknown about the "side effects" of pesticides.

Just as we are not all perfect and have the same shape, vegetables, fruits, and other natural things should all have different shapes. Not all pesticides are bad, but I think it is important to be aware of the price of forcing them to be resistant to insects and have the same shape and color.
Next time you go shopping, why not include "the environment in which they were produced" in your criteria?
