Have you ever wondered why fast fashion is so cheap? They keep costs down in every aspect, and sometimes labor costs are drastically cut. Most of the factories that make cheap clothes are in Asia, especially Bangladesh. Despite long working hours, some of them don't even pay overtime at the minimum wage. Manufacturing factories don't carry out proper safety checks, and workers aren't provided with proper protective equipment when handling dangerous chemicals. These poor working conditions in the fashion industry attracted worldwide attention after the Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh in 2013.
