The global average temperature reached a new record high on July 5th this month (17.05 degrees Celsius). The summer of 2023 is expected to be the hottest summer in recent years worldwide.

The reasons why climate change is not taken seriously in Japan include the fact that Japan is a country with an abundance of water, there have been no large-scale forest fires, and facilities such as air conditioning are in place.
